Description

The Shrutibox is a simplified version of a harmonium with reeds covered by pegs that open and close the valves.

This Shrutibox from Monoj Kumar Sardar is tuned to the 12 note scale, the Western Octave at 440Hz, in tune with the piano. It is a “bellows” type instrument that needs to be gently pumped to hold a tone. Up to 3 notes can be played simultaneously to form chords. It’s a great instrument to accompany the voice in free chanting, Mantra Chanting and Overtone Singing or Chanting.
